Welcome to FossConf Chennai Feb08
This is the registration site for the conference. This site is free
software in development and released under the BSD license. The code is available at http://registration.fossconf.in/code/
If you find errors and bugs,
please file a ticket. Preferably a ticket with a patch. Since we are
not sure what features we need for the software, we are developing it
along with the development of the conference.
The first step is to register as a delegate and fill in your
profile. You may fill in the profile by clicking your username after logging
in. You cannot register a talk without registering as a delegate.
Unless you add your profile information, you cannot do anything in this site
There are 8 kinds of talks you can register:
- Talk - 45 minutes duration. Please do not give 'wikipedia talks':
that is talks that are taken from wikipedia and websites. Please talk
on things that you have done. For example, do not talk on drupal - if
you have set up a CMS with drupal, talk on how you set it up and what
problems you faced.
-
Mini Talk - 10 minutes including questions. This is a great place
for first time speakers. And 10 minutes is a long time when you are on
the stage. You may talk on anything you like, as long as it is related
to FOSS
-
Marathadi talk - this means a talk under a tree. You will be given
a blackboard/whiteboard and may talk for as long as you like. It is
advisable that only more experienced people give such talks
-
Tutorial - upto 2 hours. Again for experienced people.
-
Sprints - this is explained on the wiki at
http://registration.fossconf.in/code/wiki/ConferenceSprints
-
Student Project - if you are a student doing a foss project this
the place for you to show your project.
-
Cultural Item - for cultural items
-
Formal Academic Presentation
-
Contests - like poster presentation and essay contest. Details will be on the site wiki
Note:
- Please upload your slides as soon as possible. Do not wait for
them to be complete. Upload the draft slides so that more experienced
people can help you out in making them better.
-
You may add multiple speakers to a talk. Any speaker may edit
the talk details
-
A speaker cannot add himself - someone has to add
him/her.
-
A speaker cannot remove himself - someone else has to do
that.
-
Talks may be in any language - if you want to talk in Tamil,
please put the title in Tamil, and the details in Tamil.
-
This site is
bilingual, and will display in the language set in your browser - if
it doesnt, it means that the strings have not yet been
translated. Please help out there.
